Tex Willer: 2008 will be the 60th year!

Tex Willer, created by writer Gian Luigi Bonelli and illustrator Aurelio Galleppini, was first published in Italy on September 30, 1948. Next year the comic will celebrate 60 years and Fabio Civitelli has been selected to draw the anniversary issue of the comic book. Here's a YouTube video that interviews the artist and discusses the significance of the upcoming 60th year for Tex Willer. Tex is certainly one of the most enduring and popular Italian comic book characters of all time.

Podcast Summary

This is a podcast for intermediate or advanced Italian language learners. You can expand your vocabulary by listening to spoken Italian while you also read the transcript and study the words that are unfamiliar. The best part is that you'll have a lot of fun in the process! "Fumetti" are Italian comic books. The podcasts are comic books that were originally dramatized for Italian radio (RADIO 2).

This podcast will focus mainly on three comic book characters that are incredibly successful in Italy: Tex, Diabolik and Dylan Dog. The podcasts and other materials on the website will show you how deeply the characters have entered the consciousness of contemporary Italian society.

Ciao a tutti! I took my first Italian language class with some friends in preparation for our vacation in Italy. Needless to say the vacation was an incredible experience. I decided that I would return to Italy as much as possible and I would also continue to learn Italian. Since then I've become the Organizer of the Washington, DC Italian language Meetup group [http://italian.meetup.com/38] and I've returned to Italy many times. Each time I go back to Italy it's even more enjoyable because now I can converse with people in their native language. Italian fumetti [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_comics] are my latest obsession. I've started to read them as much as possible and I'm finding it to be a great way to expand my knowledge of Italian. This podcast is an effort to share my passion with others.
