"La Repubblica" and "L'espresso" have launched a website to publicize the color version of a Tex comic book collection... they're selling the first 29 editions (albi) of the fumetto. Check this out...
Pretty cute, eh? It's nice marketing except I don't see an obvious link to a page where the collection can be purchased. However, I was eventually able to find the page and here it is for you if you'd like to make a purchase...
By the way, Tex is the only fumetto I've found locally here in Washington, DC. It's at a newstand (edicola) downtown on K Street (near Connecticut Ave) called NEWSWORLD. They have an excellent collection of Italian magazines and newspapers. The also have Spanish, French, German, etc sections in their store. This podcast will focus mainly on three comic book characters that are incredibly successful in Italy: Tex, Diabolik and Dylan Dog. The podcasts and other materials on the website will show you how deeply the characters have entered the consciousness of contemporary Italian society. Transcripts are available for download. I took my first Italian language class with some friends in preparation for our vacation in Italy. Needless to say the vacation was an incredible experience. I decided that I would return to Italy as much as possible and I would also continue to learn Italian. Since then I've become the Organizer of the Washington, DC Italian language Meetup group [http://italian.meetup.com/38] and I've returned to Italy many times. Each time I go back to Italy it's even more enjoyable because now I can converse with people in their native language. I've started to read them as much as possible and I'm finding it to be a great way to expand my knowledge of Italian. This podcast is an effort to share my passion with others.
